Swagat Urid Chilka (Black lentils)   Urid Dal Chilka is a very popular and important type of lentil in India, which is distinguished from other types of lentils by its distinctly aromatic taste. Urid Chilka is rich in protein, fiber and minerals (iron, phosphorus and potassium). It contains a high proportion of fiber and vitamin B6. The advantage of Urid lentils is their low fat and cholesterol content, which makes them an ideal food for those trying to follow a healthy diet.   Urid lentils can be used to prepare various Indian dishes (Idli, Dosa, Vada), soups, salads. It is also used for preparation gluten-free flour, which is used to make bread and pappads.   Method of preparation: soak the lentils in water for about 8 hours before preparation. Soaked lentils can be used directly in salads. During soaking or boiling, the black skin separates from the lentils. You can easily remove it from the surface with a spoon and continue preparing lentils without the skin.
